One day, while driving out Coon Creek, I came across this old foot bridge. It looks in good shape and, as you can see, it was made for high water. As far as I know this old bridge is still there, still ready for when it is needed.
Taken at the Upper Mud River Lake. This lake is hidden in the middle of Lincoln County and is a wonderful get-a-way. Be warned...this place is in the middle of nowhere and the local gas station does not take plastic!

The statue of General "Stonewall" Jackson stands at the south east corner of the West Virginia Capital Complex. During the summer the capital grounds are bustling with activities, even at night. Other statues grace the capital grounds but none are so beautifully silhouetted as this. It seems to say to me "Southern heritage and West Virginia Pride".
